The three sources for determining shariah are the Qu’ran, The Sunna and the Hadith The customs, and civil laws of each country or culture influence how the shariah is interpreted.

Fatwa

A religious edict (a decree or order) on Islamic law delivered by a learned scholar versed in Qur’an, Hadith, and other sources. Can be about any matter from a difficult legal problem to an everyday issue
