8 sided towers which contain an odd number of stories (3-17). They have 5 levels symbolizing the void and the four basic elements.

The Monastery

Rose during the lifetime of Buddha (500 BCE). Provided shelter and study space for monks. Some monasteries, for Buddha by kings and rich devotees, were sumptuous institutions.
